French
As stated in the SJCC Catalog, the Foreign Language Lab for French supplements classroom instruction for French 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B courses. The students will use audio, video, and computer programs in conjunction with in-class assignments. This course is worth a ½ unit and must be taken concurrently with the respective 5 unit class. This is a Credit/No Credit course.
Although each instructor may have specific requirements for their classes, all students must complete 24 hours of lab work over the course of the semester. Lab work will consist minimally of the completion of exercises in the Laboratory Manual and Video Manual that accompany the textbook.
If your course is using a textbook published by Vista Higher Learning, your textbook purchase will include a password to enter the VHL Supersite (www.vhlcentral.com) where students can access all of the video and audio programs necessary to complete the manuals. Students will use the password to set up a personal account on the VHL Supersite. There are additional practice exercises and quizzes at the site as well.

French Verbs Are Accessible
This Website contains 40 modules designed to help foreign language students feel more confident with French verbs. Used with IBM's Home Page Reader 3.04, they become completely accessible to people with visual impairments. Although Home Page Reader was originally designed to allow blind and low vision Windows users to access the World Wide Web, virtually all French learners can hear this material read aloud early in their studies, thereby using the technology to improve listening and pronunciation skills.
